Actor, director, pedagogue.
Merited Artist of Ukraine.

“I would like to awaken in a person recollection of the primeval joy of creation”.

Graduated from the I.K. Karpenko-Karyi State Theatre Institute (1981), class of A.Ye. Hashyns’kyi, People’s Artist of the USSR.

One of the founders of the Les’ Kurbas Theatre in Lviv (1987), for over 20 years the theatre’s leading actor.

In1995-96 worked as an actor at the La Mama and Players Forum off-off-Broadway theatres (New York, USA); awarded best actor accolades at three festivals for his role of Svidrigailov in Faust’s Games (directed by V. Kuchyns’kyi).

From 1996-2004 participated in Ukrainian and Russian theatrical projects (The Seagull and The Idiot, directed by D. Lazorko (2000), The Seagull, directed by A. Zholdak (2001), among others); acted in films (over 30 roles in films in Poland, Russia, the USA).

From 1998-2001 hosted the “Good Night Ukraine” television show (ERA TV); hosted the Producers’ Films of Ukraine and Russia Cinema Festival, Yalta.

Pedagogical Work:
Has conducted master-classes at acting schools in Kyiv, Lviv, Moscow, and New York for over 15 years;
Artistic Director and actor’s craft teacher at the O. Dovzhenko School-Studio (2002).

Head of the Culturalogical Research Division at the Kurbas Centre.
Director of the “A.K.T. Studio”. Developed and practices his own method of creative improvisation and training system for teaching actors and for personal development.
Has written many literary works and screenplays.
Produced and directed the video-film A Carol for Paraska, A.K.T. Studio, Les' Kurbas SCTA, 2005.
